Accessibility and accommodations
Technology accessibility statement
Viable Food Systems is committed to providing equitable access to the Illinois Grocery Access tool and responding promptly when someone encounters a barrier.
Our commitment
We are working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level A and AA. Accessibility is included in design, development, testing, content review, and ongoing maintenance.
What we are doing
The public tool is designed to provide the same essential information through its map, searchable location results, and text-based store information.
- Supporting keyboard navigation and visible focus indicators.
- Providing headings, labels, status announcements, and text alternatives for visual map information.
- Using sufficient contrast and avoiding color as the only way information is communicated.
- Supporting browser zoom, responsive layouts, English and Spanish public content, and reduced motion preferences.
Known limitations
Interactive maps can present accessibility limitations. Search results, store information, community context, and printable reports are provided in HTML as non-graphical alternatives. Contact us for an accommodation or another format.
Report a barrier or request an accommodation
Tell us what page or feature you were using, what happened, and the format or assistance that would work for you. You may contact us by email or telephone.
We will acknowledge accessibility reports and accommodation requests within two business days and will work with you toward a timely resolution.
Accessibility accommodations and alternative formats are provided at no cost.
